About
Stella Luckey
Stella Luckey has always loved art. Her earliest memory of creating art is during second grade when she received praise from her teacher about her drawings. It was family members, however, that served as her greatest influences during her childhood. Watching her father add illu strations to personal letters and crafting with her mother and grandmother on many church and community projects were catalysts in Stella’s artistic creativity. Like the rest of the family, Stella’s older sister is an artist, and Stella remembers when taking family trips, her sister would give her drawing lessons in the back seat of the family car.
While in high school, in Virginia, Stella received several art awards. Even though her high school art teacher tried to persuade her to study art therapy, Stella chose to study hearing impaired education and elementary education at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, where she met her husband who brought her to LaBelle.
During her teaching career she always wanted to teach art. Many years ago she began taking art classes to qualify her as an art teacher. She taught art for over 15 years at the elementary level. Now she is retired, and enjoys creating art on a regular basis.
Stella loves color and experimenting with all mediums. This is likely because of her experience as an art teacher.
She also enjoys leading paint and sip classes to new and returning participants
