D S Reif-----The work of an artist is the sum of his experience.

 

A professional artist since 1981 Reif has worked in stoneware, sculpture, silversmithing, and painting - changing media when necessary to meet economic conditions.

 

Collaborating with his artist wife Annie, they have sold their work at major art festivals from Minnesota to Miami.

In 2009 he started to refine his art to develop a unique look inspired by a century old Expressionist platform. Reif sought to extend the ideas of Franz Marc, Otto Dix, and Wassily Kandinsky while integrating the American thought of Marsden Hartley and Milton Avery into a new vision of intensity and image that was abstracted but not divorced from the material world.
